Covering a song is a quite interesting yet tricky exercise. The difficulty  lies mainly in managing to find the right balance between making someone else’s song yours -otherwise there’s not point doing a cover really- and being careful enough not to waste its original spirit away. Sometimes it’s hard work, sometimes you want to tear your hair out (I thought I would have to wear a wig after having done Wilco’s cover), and sometimes it comes rather naturally, like this one.

In the end it’s not about the result but about the journey. What matters is not what you do but how you do it.

September starts with great news, Scarlett will produce the first solo album of Greek singer-songwriter Panos Giannakakis. Among others he’s been working with composer Gerasimos Triantafillou and the band The Voyage of Limpid Sound but he is best known as a DJ for it’s been almost 20 years now that he’s been sharing his musical knowledge and fine taste. Imagine a walking 7-feet tall music encyclopedia, that’s him.

The album will be recorded in Athens this fall.
